Well I finnally begun hay season I made about 50 small square bales, all equipment worked nice now just waiting for next window of nice weather.

Seems to be very small windows in our area this year!

Havent used any hay equipment since beginnin of June due to weather, I think we have a window starting saturday, I guess when I cut it will be cutting entire fields, and round baling with that New Idea round baler I bought. Im thinkin I did the right thing by buying that cause it is field ready, Id like to do some more small squares too, we will see.

I'm not going to have any hay this year. Last nights 20 hundredths is the first measurable rain we have had since late May.

Well I figure Id blab on about hayseason, I got my New Idea 484 round baler home yesterday, cant wait to try it out, kinda like a kid at christmas, i will let you know how I make out, gonna mow some the next couple of days, I better check weather first, in the manual it says something about balin cornstalks too.

i finally saw enough not-raining window to go up on the hill 4 miles away to do some hay. mowed 24 acres tuesday, tedded it weds, raked about 40% thursday, and round baled around it 2x and back and forth once to have a place to rake it to today. so, today it is overcast and drizzly with t-storms predicted for tonight. what else is new this miserable summer?
oh yeah, i'm doing the morning milkings all week, as the regular morning guy is on vacation. its the most (early) work i have done since i got hurt in sept. i'm whooped.

Well got first fields done working on 2nd and 3rd fields on rain delay again, its gonna be all round bales unless I get a small window for squares.
that New Idea 484 is a nice baler it has no problem makin bales, I can see as the season goes on they will mush down, Im gonna put them in bags to keep them it should help. Bought a 3pt 7ft disc mower (Kuhn) I hope this helps speed things up gonna organize some people to help operate equipment in there spare time.
So How is your hayin going or not going?!

the nicest week of the year- end of august- we were in Rantoul for the half century of progress show. i ad the last first cutting field mostly done, and the guys finished it off. baled a little second when i got back. more 2nd to bale if it stops raining long enough. i'm selling my third cutting in the field to chop.
how do you like your disc mower? I presume it has no conditioner?

Tryed out the Kuhn 3pt disc mower, works pretty good, alot simplier to use, I did notice it mulches up the hay. I think in the future it will be handy to have around, not totally convience I wanna give up nh467 haybine just yet, my ideas now since I have some people around that can run equip I plan on running mutliple equip.

11:30 and 83 degrees Can't wait for Fall, And flannel shirt weather again. Calling for a high of 88 today here. YUCK!!!

Still working on hay hopefully this is the last of it should be done this coming week then gotta haul all it back home.

The Kuhn disc mower works good and speeds things up, The new idea round baler sure is easy to use.

Funny thing happened while getting to close to a pine tree the baler twine got caught up in in tree i musta strung out a good 100 feet or more of twine, my buddy come running down into field to tell me after falling down several times, wonder why he he was flailin his arms at me

Not supposed to do stuff like that, Sounds like the big JD farmer here today was running the big wagon beside the JD combine while he was unloading, Only problem was they must have left the shoot open. All the beans were in a nice winrow . I bet he got his butt chewed. LOL
