Folks, I have been on the list for awhile but never introduced myself. I grew up (as much as I ever grew up) on a ranch in western Nebraska. Went off to college and eventually become an academic librarian. Spent my career in Indiana, Florida, and Texas and then eventually back to Nebraska. Retired two years ago and then got a temporary job for two years in Minnesota. In the late 1980s I got involved with a toy tractor club in the St. Petersburg/Sarasota area of Florida. In 1990 I hunted up the Farmall A my grandfather purchased new in 1941. He sold it to my father in the late 1940s, and my mother sold it in 1968. I stored it at my father-in-laws farm near Hastings, Nebraska. In the past 18 years the collection has grown to 10 tractors, mostly Farmalls and mostly tractors that have come down through the family. I now have a 40 by 72 pole building I am working on getting the final touches on to work on and store the tractors in my retirement. I live near Kearney, Nebraska, and today we are getting a little bit of rain! Bookman
