Hubby and I have been talking and feel like we should be planning the TRAN Relay routes one year out. I have talked to a few people and they would like a year notice to get it on their calendar.

KTIC drive had registration starting for 2014 drive just a week or so after their drive in 2013. They have the route planned out well in advance.

My suggestion is that when we plan 2014's route/dates, that we also plan 2015's route/dates. We can always tweak the route some as time gets closer, and we don't need to start taking registrations that early, but at least everyone would know the general route and dates for the next year - and we can promote the following year while on the drive.

I think this would help with people that maybe need to take vacation from a job etc. It would give us a chance to find segment leaders possibly on the drive, would also give those segment leaders more time to get sponsors and set up meals etc.

Let me know your thoughts!
Donelle

I was working on a route starting at Nebraska City at the Kregel windmill factory. I have talked to the windmill folks and they would love to have us (it was their idea) I thought I'd keep working on that unless somebody has a better idea. The BRAN folks are planning on starting their bike ride in Chadron for 2014, Then southern route starting around Imperial for 2015. That's all I know
