Right now I'm avoiding the heat. Summer finally arrived and we have our typical mid 90's heat and 70+ dewpoint. I haven had a chance to cut any hay yet, the flood in May took my 1st cutting and left about 6" of mud on my hay ground. It's been slow to grow back but it's looking good. I plan on starting later this week.

I'm like Rusty. Staying out of the heat. I spent a couple days hauling manure. Braced up a small shed yesterday that has been trying to fall over. Next week I will go to Bird City to help get ready for their steam show. Sounds like they want me to run the Avery.

Hi All, This past weekend we had our 25th anniversary at the local antique power club. I brought a 1931 Regular on steel in it's work cloths
and a 1938 F-14 wide front pulling my PTO McCormick Deering corn binder. Spent two day demonstration shelling cob corn, grinding it with a McCormick Deering Burr mill and feeding corn stalks into a McCormick Deering #5 ensilage cutter blowing into a small trailer.
Great weather here, a lot of fun had by all. oldiron29

Mostly cursing the weather. Gonna be another year of putting up first and second cut all grown together. 500+ bales to do today, and still one wagon to haul from last night. Supposed to be hot and sunny today and most of tomorrow, but then no clear window in sight for another week.

Still haven't finished cleaning up from sugaring, and haven't started my firewood yet. Being sick off and on for most of May didn't help.

I finally got started baling hay. I had my 826 worked on late this spring but when I got it home I had to fix it myself  The hay is late but is turning out better than usual. I'll be about half done today. I've got to replace a roller bearing this AM. I've found that a temp gun is worth their weight in gold for checking bearings. I've got another one that's a little warm that I'll change when I get done today.

I put a couple headlights in the Cadillac so it's street legal again. It's not pretty. I have been looking for a month for a header panel but no body seems to have one.

It's an 85. Deville. I patched it up but now the alternator light came on. One thing after another. Maybe it's time to quit it. The tires will fit the Grand Marquis.

Started clipping pastures yesterday. Got the wettest parts done in anticipation of today's all day rain.

Tubed today completely, didn't feel real great. We were going to a folk festival today, but cold nasty and raining, stayed home and did absolutely nothing.

Tomorrow I will either continue with pasture clipping, or more likely, cut wood.

Wood, yeah, that will be coming shortly. Wood, hay and water and fire is my friend. But anyway, I am putting in 80 feet of cement feed bunks. We cleaned up old corral panels yesterday and I hauled two loads home. I don't know how much of it my landlord will let me keep but I want to build another pen.
