Anyone been inside one of these? The speed control lever on mine doesn't do anything. It just runs wide, and I mean wide-about 1500 rpm or more-open. I was in there, made sure the choke discs were open when stopped. I guess the governor is supposed to close the discs to control engine speed. Played with the linkage a bit, but didn't help. It's done this ever since I got it. I am not the first one to be in there, as it is really clean inside. Would it be possible that the governor spring was put in backward during the original assembly? That's all I can think of right now.
