I buy whatever they have at the farm store. I think one is a Paramark and the other is probably a Zumbrum or something. Plastic case but it clicks and sparks. The shock meter on the Paramrk no longer works but it still shocks. Any of them are more dependable that what we used 50 years ago with points and a spring. Remember shaking the fencer to get it clicking? The big thing now is you MUST have a good ground or they will self destruct. They don't click very loud either. It has to be dead calm with no background noise for me to hear. Some of the old ones you could hear when you were in bed at night.

It don't matter....I had three different makes going here - that thick necked Jersey bull would stroll up to the fence, sniff it, then toss his neck right on over it to get the grass on the other side. He pushed down nearly every fence I have! I KNOW the fencer was working - it knocked one of the neighbors for a loop when he accidently hit it!
Fortunately - that bull went into the freezer a couple weeks ago......
