Probably not, but it will be fun to see the old guys faces when I plow with a 3-14 in high gear

Over the past few days I got the rod bearings all adjusted and then installed the sleeves and pistons! Head is at the machine shop getting new valve seats installed. Just need to clean and install the oil pump and oil pan and then the lower end will be done 8)

Pictures of the engine progress so far. Flywheel and pressure plate were surface ground and a NOS clutch disc installed. Pressure plate is heavy duty with extra springs inside of the standard springs 8)

The engine is pretty much done now! The next job is to get wheels and tires mounted on the chassis.

I have not done much at all on this project for quite some time. I did get all the tires mounted on the wheels and the rear ones installed so that I could roll it around with the skid loader, left brake is stuck so that wheel won't turn though :? I also set the engine back in the chassis while I had the skid loader handy and moved the tractor into the shop. I did spend some time in the shop this afternoon, but did not get much accomplished at all....

Has it been hot down there Kirk? You probably needed a break. I know I did. I took a nice nap.

So what are the next steps? Did you ever get that brake unstuck?

I did get the brake unstuck, Mike. The pads were rusted to the drum so naturally the brake shoes broke when I pulled the drum off....I hauled home an F30 parts tractor with good brakes earlier this summer, so I used the drums and shoes off of it on this F30.

A few little things that need to be finished yet is to get the hand crank mechanism off a parts tractor to install on this one as it was missing when I bought the tractor. The radiator is all cleaned and put back together, now I have to make sure it will hold water before I mount it in the tractor! Another thing I need to do is to make some repairs to a front wheel before I can mount a tire on it.

Dave, I just have SO MANY other projects yet to be done that it seems my 'to do' list is growing faster than my "done" list of projects!

Things yet to rebuild or get running

a 1925 15-30
Couple of 10-20 McCormick-Deerings
3 1920s IHC trucks
IHC 2-row mounted cornpicker
F20
2, W30s
F12
TD40
Oh, and I have to fix a stuck valve on the one 10-20 I have running...I took it out and plowed with it 3 weeks ago and actually worked it for the first time since I rebuilt it and a valve stuck. I installed new valve guides when I rebuilt the engine and the one must be a hair tight :(
